The Belle Plaine High School Class of 2023 has a lot to be proud of.
Students at Chatfield and Oak Crest Elementary schools had the opportunity to participate in a coloring contest for National Police Week, which this year runs from May 14-20.
With less than three weeks left in the school year, students are readying for graduation and summer break, but for the Belle Plaine School Board the end of the school year means it’s time to turn to budgeting for the next school year.

“This is my fourth year at the One Act State Festival, with three being in-person and one being virtual. Finally being a senior has given me the seemingly distant sense of it being over. I thank my cast and director for everything they have given me.”
Belle Plaine One Act Play students will again have the opportunity to represent themselves, their school and their community at the highest level, as one of just eight schools who earned the right to compete at the 2023 Class A State One Act Play Festival.
The Belle Plaine 2023 Snow Week Court includes Luke Meriwether, Prestin Hang, Aiden Tuchtenhagen, Ryan Retzer, Connor O’Brien, Mckenzie Schwichtenberg, Courtney Eppen, Ciara Fahey, Lari Ruud and Mackenzie Murphy.

Belle Plaine’s second Hoops for Hope event on Tuesday, Jan. 17 raised $10,648.07 to send to the American Cancer Society, a big improvement from the first event in 2020.
Belle Plaine School District Superintendent Ryan Laager reported to the School Board on Monday, Jan. 23 that he is actively following the activities at the State Capitol in regards to budget proposals laid out by Governor Walz for funding education.
The cast and crew of the Belle Plaine One Act Play came out on top in last Saturday's Minnesota River Conference One Act Play Festival, boasting five MRC All-Conference selections, the Best Actor and Actress, and earning one of two Star performances.
